Connector
A link between an AI app and an outside service, such as a drive, calendar or chat tool, that lets the model read your data from there.
A connector signs in to a service on your behalf and lets the assistant search or read from it. You approve a scope, such as read-only access to one folder, and the app then answers using your own material.
Check the scope before you approve it. Some connectors reach much more than their name suggests. Content that the connector reads is also untrusted input and can carry prompt-injection.
A connector is often built on mcp, but not always.
